About Bhartiya Jalpan, Guwahati

From Lakshmangarh to Guwahati, our founder, Sri Girdhari Lal Pareek, fondly remembered as Girdhari Maharaj, arrived in Assam with a box of treasured family recipes, an unwavering commitment to quality, and a dream to create something enduring. In 1945, what began as a humble tea stall in Fancy Bazaar soon grew into the first Bhartiya Jalpan, where handcrafted mithai, namkeens, and traditional snacks won the hearts of generations. His philosophy was simple yet uncompromising: serve only the finest food, prepared with authenticity and honesty. That commitment became the foundation of Bhartiya Jalpan, making it a name synonymous with trust, timeless tradition, and unforgettable flavours.

Over the decades, Bhartiya Jalpan has evolved while staying true to its roots. Many of our signature creations—including Dilkushal, Kalakand, Ras Madhuri, Kaju Barfi, HM Bhujia, and Dal Kachori—continue to be crafted using Girdhari Maharaj’s original recipes, preserving the taste that generations have grown up with. Since 2017, we have thoughtfully reimagined the brand for the modern era, expanding across Guwahati and Bangalore with stores that bring together mithai, namkeen, chaat, wholesome meals, and curated gifting experiences. Every store we open, every sweet we prepare, and every celebration we become a part of carries forward the same promise that has guided us since 1945: uncompromising quality, authentic flavours, and the joy of bringing people together.
